Essentials About India

Seasons In India

Let’s talk about 3 vividly visible seasons in India: Summers, Monsoons and Winter. All the 3 seasons offer something different to travelers globally.

Summers

The great hot Indian summer is when the air conditioning comes on, schools get shut and most people switch to vacation mode.

Summer Months: April – June

States to visit in Summer: Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh

Winters

Temperatures in India during the winter seasons varies from region to region. You can witness colder weather in the northern part of the country, as compared to central and southern India. Overall winter is an extremely pleasant time to visit. It is also the “on-season” in most parts, and places are filled with vibrant bazaar culture, and hustle bustle of crowds.

Winter Months: November – February

States to visit in Winter: Rajasthan, Gujarat, Northeast India, Goa, Himalayas for snow

Monsoons

There is something incredibly romantic about India in the monsoons. Visit the western ghats in monsoon for breathtaking views and weather. Trust us, even if you aren’t a fan of the rains, this is one experience you would not want to miss.

Rainy Months: July – September

States to visit in Monsoon: Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya

March marks the onset of spring in India and October; the autumn season.
